PARADISE IN MACAU

Day three was all about relaxing and traveling. Rachel and I had completely warn ourselves out the day before, with a trip to The Buddha (Part One) and ending the night at The Peak Tower (Part Two) and what I also failed to mention in the last blog was that, we got completely lost navigating our way to The Peak Tower and ended up walking for 45 minutes in the wrong direction - in the unbearable heat and flip flops - not a great combination.

Our original plan was to visit the park (mainly so that Rachel could show me the dog toilets! (We don't have those in the UK). However instead we decided to have breakfast, pack our cases, check out of the hotel and head on over to Macau.

Macau is where Rachel lived. I say this in the past tense because she no longer lives in China and is traveling around Thai Land! However, during my visit I stayed with her at The Holiday Inn Cotai Central - in an amazing Deluxe bedroom.

To get there we jumped on an underground tram to the ferry port and caught the next ferry over to Macau with Cotai Water Jets. Under recommendation from Rachel we travelled in First Class, which came with Wifi and lunch - a perfect combination. As you can see in the video (below), the seats were extremely comfortable and it was a seamless journey. Before we knew it, we were back on land!

The next leg of the journey was on a coach and more importantly a welcomed break from the heat. Before we arrived at what i can only describe as Paradise. I was stunned! When speaking to Rachel on FaceTime before this visit, I only ever really saw her bed head - as she would phone me whilst sat on her bed. Also the photos she sent me did not do this hotel any justice.  I'd pictured a standard Holiday Inn - like the one's i'd seen in England - not an enormous building with a casino, numerous restaurants, all kinds of shops, conference facilities and a beautiful hotel under one roof. - So you can probably picture my face when i walked through the door and was faced with utter luxury.

Featured slightly in the vlog is a car journey with a couple of Rachel's friends - Sergio and Cristina. An amazing man and wife who she first met as regulars in the bar at her work and then over time they became good friends. I'd heard a lot about them before visiting Macau and vice versa so we were all very eager to meet each other. You will see more of them in future vlogs too. The footage is captured on the drive home from Sands Casino, where Rachel sang in a band called Fifth Street.

Thank you for reading, I hope you enjoy the video!
